Oh happy day!
|
You probably think I’m talking about the inauguration. Yes, that too! I’ll be forcing the darelings to watch it with me, no matter how they plead for Spongebob instead, and they are going to be completely bored and have no idea what the big deal is – and that is awesome. Now we just have to deal with the question my eldest burst out with yesterday evening, in the middle of the Lakers game: “Hey! How come there are no girls?”
But it’s a happy day in the Dare household for yet another reason:
Yes, my ARCs arrived! But…there are ten of them. Ten. Don’t they know I need at least 200? Ack. I’m not sure what I’ll be doing with them, but for the moment I’m holding my preciouses close and just staring at them a lot. Okay, and fondling them, but we won’t talk about that. 🙂
Hope it’s a happy day for you all as well!

Woohoo!! How very cool, Tessa. So, tell me, what did you do when you opened up that box of books with YOUR NAME ON THEM??
Speaking of fondling…

Yay! They look so beautiful! I would fondle them, too, if I were you! I mean, uh, lovingly stroke them. In a completely consensual fashion.

Ohhh, squee!!! Your ARCs came so early (is that how early they do come?). I think I would’ve started crying and squeeing when I opened the box to my very own ARCs; it’s all very, very real.
I can’t even imagine how you’re going to spread the ten ARCs around. Or maybe you don’t. You can just hoard them all for yourself. It’ll be like the ring in Lord of the Rings. You’ll rub the ARCs and murmur, my precious. But not as creepy, of course.
Congrats, and how fabulous!!!

That’s fantastic! What a momentous occasion!
Next time, you should shoot the camera from a really low angle so that the pile REALLY looks towering. 😉

Thanks, everybody! It’s pretty exciting, I must admit.

Hi Tessa, I’m new to your blog, but will certainly check back often as I really enjoy your posts. Congrats on the ARCs and I’m sure your publisher has plans to the rest of them, including great mailing lists to all those important industry folk. I think you should keep at least two:)

Wow, how exciting! What a huge day! Personally- I’m exhausted from the emotion of it all. A new book is just what I need. Say the word and I’ll send my address 😉 (I can’t believe I am the first to shamelessly suggest that.)

Oh wow, how absolutely wonderful and exciting. The books look great. Today is an exciting day period and my 5 yr old doesn’t have a clue just how monumental it is AND yes, that’s a good thing. (Though I’m trying to drill the importance home).

It’s like I can just reach out and grab one! I love ARCs – have I ever told you that? There’s something just so wonderfully raw about them. But do you know what I love more than ARCs?
TALKING about them! Ya know, just in case you were wondering or anything….
On another note – Kudos to you for sharing this incredible day in our nation’s history with your kids. They may not remember it but it will mean volumes to their own personal histories and the history they carve out in the years to come.

How exciting. And how pretty. I mean, we already knew the covers were pretty, but now we can see that actually BOOK. I can totally see the need for fondling.
Since we had the day off yesterday due to the giant snow storm of ’09 (which NEVER CAME!!!!), kiddo and I watched the festivities. The speach was awesome and though she didn’t understand all of it, hopefully someday when she does understand, she’ll look back and remember we watched it together.

Tessa, how awesome! I would definitely do some fondling, too! That and sleep with them and eat with them and take them all over the house with me! Or better yet, place them in strategic places in your household so that every room you enter has your gorgeous heroine staring at you! LOL

Lovely! Lock them away for pristine posterity! This is so exciting, Tessa. Congrats again and again!

Thanks some more, everyone! Leigh, I think I’m going to have to start a chain-letter approach or something. Read and pass along, LOL. Anyone interested, email me your snail mail addy.
Sarah, thanks so much for coming by! Your new site is lovely!
And Santa and Bev – yep, yesterday was a very cool day to be a mom. 🙂

They look fabulous!!!! ‘Fess up…did you sleep with them? I can’t wait to buy copies for my romance reader friends!

What a beautiful sight, Tessa! The only thing better will be when GOTH is actually on bookshelves at B &N, BAM, Borders, Hastings, and, of course, all out local Walmarts ready for us to buy copies and make sure that any remaining copies are prominently displayed. 🙂

Glorious ARCs. They look beautiful!!! Congratulations. What a feeling that, to touch, to smell, to see YOUR book.

I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy. The covers are so pretty. Mesmerizing even. I have to say that I’m liking the trend (in both HR and HF) of a person or persons on the top of the cover, and a lush scene at the bottom. Congrats!
