Here in Cali, at least.

It’s going to be a crazy week, turning in my third book, getting ready for RWA, packing for the Dare family vacation of ridiculous proportions….

I had a little vocabulary lesson the other day – my editor sent me an email that read, “I launched your titles last week, and everyone was really excited!”

To which I said… “I’m excited, too! Um, can you tell me what that means?”
Because, you know, I haven’t even turned in the third one yet, and whatever “launching” meant, I was a wee bit afraid that it might have been done prematurely. Plus, I was a wee bit afraid that “launching my titles” might have meant jettisoning them into the stratosphere like so much space junk.

Fortunately, it means no such thing. I’ve since learned that it means she presented my trilogy to the sales people, presumably to get them psyched to sell oodles and oodles of copies. And since everyone was excited, I suppose that means the “launching” went well. Hooray! I’ll try to figure out more about it when I have lunch with my editor next week. Evidently cover art discussions begin in August – can’t wait to see what the art people come up with!

It’s all good, it’s all good…I’m just trying to breathe normally.

In other exciting news, look – merchandise! Vixen Ely, who was kind enough to beta-read ALOP, felt so moved to make the “I [heart] Toby” t-shirt. I’ve been wearing him…er, it…to bed.

Goals for the coming fortnight:
1) Turn in ALOP (early!)
2) Don’t make a cake of myself in SF.

#1, I’ve got under control. #2….iffy.

Yay! on launching! Yay! to turning ALOP in early! Yay! to I (heart) Toby shirts (of which I have three!) LOL! Seriously, I so owe Ely. And they will be gifted as planned.

I’m still deciding on what all to pack, whether to take the extra suitcase, who is going to pet sit, and which workshops to take. For the last one, I made a schedule with two to three choices for each session. That’s the best I can do.

Can’t wait to see the covers and can’t wait to see YOU!

You can so thank Terri who said I want a I heart Toby t-shirt somewhere, and it got me thinking. LOL

You must be so excited to start discussing cover art! I’m so excited to see what they come up with! And then when you have the actual book in your hands—wow, that’ll just be another moment.

    Congrats on everything!!!

I so wish I was going to San Fran; you’ll all have so much fun!

Just think next year… you’ll be in D.C. with your own table (right?), and your books will be releasing. Excitement!

Your trilogy and writing are going to blow everyone away. Can’t wait to see the accolades and your name on the NYT bestseller list.

That is so awesome! And I think I’ll have to pick up one of those Toby shirts. I’m so excited for you!
Oh! And everything will go great in SF. You’re way too classy to make a cake of yourself:). I hope I get to meet you next year, but by then you’ll be too busy with your numerous fans.

Okay so it’s Thursday, er, Friday here on the right coast but I just wanted to straighten you out about SF.

It’s not that you’re going to make a cake out of yourself but that you’re going to HAVE cake.

    Congrats on the launch!

Ely did do a great job on the T-shirt and who better to sleep with than Toby — ‘sides Mr. Dare, ‘natch!
