Wow – coming off a busy weekend in the Dare house. Hope everyone else had a happy Cinco de Mayo! I’ll be around later today to catch up on everyone’s blogging, promise.

I really need to get that word count widget working again – in case anyone’s wondering, I’m at about 15K words with Goddess of Beauty, and it’s swimming right along. Really, I’m so excited about this story, and these characters – it’s a great feeling.

Somewhere partway through writing GOTH, I had this moment where I really fell in love with the idea of Jeremy and Lucy as a couple. All of a sudden, I found myself daydreaming about them in the HEA – I saw them snuggling in bed and playing with cute little babies and teasing each other and exchanging fond glances over the breakfast table. I wished I could write a whole book of epilogues for them, just happy little scenes of affection and domestic bliss.

Does anyone else daydream like this, or am I just weird? Just warming up for TMI Tuesday, I guess. 🙂

    Eve,

That’s wonderful you’re moving along so nicely with your new WIP. I, unfortunately, come to a complete halt. AHR is dragging me back to it and it’s getting a little pain now that I’m second guessing the beginning of my novel. I need to go back to ATR but I’m trying to figure out what I should do with AHR (if anything at all).

And, like you, I love ATR. I have my h/h from AHR is a little of the story and of course they’ve had two babies and are loving married life, just the way I like all my h/h to do. 🙂

Haha, funny you should mention it. I’m reviewing my partial for RTR and one thing I noticed when I wrote it (as a second novel that revists the h/h from the first) was that I wasn’t giving my former h/h the HEA they deserved. And I have to think on that a bit more, because it’s directly related to the trilogy arc I came up with, and the backstory that brings all three books together.

    Basically, I’m screwed 🙂

Glad to hear you both are making progress!

I’m still revising. And like Beverley, have come to a point where I’m suddenly disliking a part I hade heretofore enjoyed. If I throw it out there’s a whole plot element, that takes up a goodly portion of the book out, so I’d have to refill those pages with some new scenes. If I keep it, I may have one of the worst plot elements ever! Oh well, it really should become self evident shortly if it will work or not.

I’m weirder and not as nice. I fell in love with my own hero. In my fantasy epilogue, I knock Gwen off so I can have Christian all to myself.

My first-ever hero, Major Lucas Anthony, still rambles around my head at odd times.Dark hair, prematurely graying, hot. And he’s wild for his heroine, so that makes him very nice.

And I see I’m in good company, cause I have to change the black moment in TRR. I always hated it and don’t know why I was so stupid not to see what I thought of last night. Better late than never.

If it isn’t one set of characters parading through my head it’s another. If I weren’t a writer I’d be insane.

Wow, congrats Tessa! You’re putting us all to shame! 😉

I get attached to characters after spending just a few hours in their world, so of course I end up unnaturally attached to characters who’ve been a part of my life for months – and that I created! I think that’s major appeal of fan fiction – we want all those cutesy moments!

I daydream about my characters, too. Mostly about how I can put my poor tortured hero through even more turmoil and angst… mua ha haa… 😉

I think you “have” to fall in love with your characters to be able to compell readers to fall in love with them too. . .

Like Alice, if I didn’t have the outlet to write, I’d probably be locked away somewhere by now. . .

I have to say I sleep with my h/h! Is that awful? And I carry on conversations with them when they won’t let me sleep. Gee, what is up with these characters?

I’ve consulted my characters on important decisions… which probably means I should be locked up somewhere!

Okay … so I may be weird, but I’m in good company. I think that’s what I’m hearing!
